Read and try the below verification suggestion
before buying a new Monitor.
1. Firstly is the power factor. If the power
factor from the electricity department is not satisfactory then also the
monitor screen flickers. Our office is in industrial area and due to the
use of heavy machinery in near by units the power factor value is quite
low. We had monitor flickering problem on almost all our systems, around
150. We have installed Capacitor Bank on the main supply for improving
the power factor. That has solved the problem.
2. One more reason could be the inductive
load. If you have air conditioners, compressors, motors or the other
heavy inductive load on the same supply then again monitors flicker. Try
not to have computers on the same supply line.
3. Also you can
install line filters to remove the monitor flickering in certain cases,
where quality of mains supply is not good.
4. If the supply line runs very close to the
monitor signal cable then also monitor flickering is observed.
5. When replacing the Signal cable check for
the ferrite filter preferably at both the ends. These filter eliminate
most of the high frequency interferences from the signal cable. These
can be easily identified as cylindrical knot at both the ends.
6. In most cases if you raise the monitor
refresh rate to a higher value say 72-85Hz the problem is solved.
| NOTE:Pleae check the user manula of the monitor to confirm if it
does support the hihger refresh rate. Uneuppoterd high refrsah
rates can permanently damage the monitor. |
You may also try this simpole idea, monitor
flickering is to move the monitor away
from nearby fluorescent lighting or turning
off the fluorescent lights. If the computer itself sits next to the monitor, moving the monitor away
from the PC may correct the problem.
